Consultations


Need some assistance solving a garden problem?  Want to learn how to care for your garden but don't want to sit in a class?   We can work together to focus on your garden's needs while working in your garden.  Areas of focus could include:

  • Use of space & other design issues.
  • One-on-one garden tutorials - think "Garden Coach".  (Plant ID, pruning, etc.)
  • Problem diagnosis - pest, disease, cultural.
  • Ecological pest control recommendations and management practices.
  • Maintenance plans and schedules.

Landscape Design


Interested in a more detailed, documented approach?  We provide the following design services as needed to meet your landscape goals.

  • On-site evaluation and assessment of exisiting landscape area.
  • Simple sketches or detailed working drawings.
  • Designs that reflect your needs and life-style.
  • Year-round interest with color, fragrance, and texture.
  • Specialty gardens - naturalistic, wildlife habitats, edible, children's.
  • Plant procurement and placement.
  • Contractor referrals

Installations


Need some assistance installing your landscape?  We can work together to determine the best and most cost effective means to accomplish your goals from full service installations to materials procurement and project managament..


Design Process


  1. Completion of the design checklist (client needs analysis).
  2. Initial consultation with client to discuss site development including detailed client analysis, site analysis, and development of conceptual sketches.
  3. Photographs and development of a base plan from plot plan and measurements.*
  4. Preparation of prelimanary plan, showing all proposed site elements, exisition site features, and general planting areas.  Notes will identify traffic patterns and general plant types.
  5. Consultation to discuss preliminary plan and any changes to the design.
  6. Development of Master Planting Plan. Changes after the master plan has begun may warrant additional design fees.
  7. Presentation of final Master Plan and supporting documents.  
  8. Client approval of Master Plan. Client will receive 3 blackline prints of master plan and a copy of supporting documents.

*Additional services may be required to facilitate the design process. (i.e. research to obtain tax plot dimensions; measurements of existing structures and other elements; etc.)
